The Essential School of Painting

The Essential School of Painting  (ESOP) is an Art School specialising in long and short courses taught by leading contemporary artists. ESOP offers practically and intellectually rigorous courses with the intention of advancing painting and fine art practice in the 21st century. 

We provide flexible, affordable,  high quality art education with small class sizes to ensure a good amount of tutor contact time. Art materials are included in most of our courses. Courses are available in studio or online for all levels of experience.

Established in 2004 ESOP is experienced in offering flexible, high quality art education. Our courses range from one and two year long advanced and postgraduate programmes to long and short courses at BA, Foundation and beginner levels.

All our courses are taught by professional, exhibiting artists. Our intention is to provide you with opportunities to develop your skills, foster your creativity and imagination and enable you to develop as an artist whatever stage you are at with the guidance of expert tutors and a supportive artistic community.
