Michelle Charles

Michelle Charles was born in London and has exhibited and taught in both the UK and the USA for several decades. She spent 20 years in Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and New York City, teaching at institutions including Parsons, Pratt, Long Island University, Moore College of Art, and The Minneapolis College of Art and Design. In the UK, she has taught at the University of Wales, Camberwell College of the Arts, and St Martins, and has lectured at numerous other art schools and universities including the Royal Academy and Wimbledon School of Art.

She has received multiple awards in support of her work, most recently funding from Arts Council England to design workshops that bring people together through art in our community. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in numerous public collections.
