Marianne Fox Ockinga

My work over the last two years has mostly been about the place where we live. Volunteer gardening in Thornhill Square

is one of my subjects. I was inspired by Vincent's marvelous drawings of people working on the land.A new bench

was created last year around a birch, from which I did a self portrait and an evening view .

Going back to Kings Cross where earlier this century I worked most of the time, drawing the buildings that were to be demolished and the new structures,I hope to find interesting new views this summer . Also, returning after two years to

the marshes in Friesland in August and painting again from a rowing boat will be amazing .
