My work is rooted in the interaction of natural and man made elements. I use natural pigments, sand and earth. Most of these are collected by myself. The pigments interact with the lacquers and resins I use to form spontaneous shapes which dry to a glass like surface. Once dry, I fill the in-between spaces with paint, Japanese paper or print to create a patchwork like image.
