Liz Collini
'The majority of my drawings, prints and installations are language-based and construct, dissolve and erase familiar words and phrases to the point where text and image intersect. I use found and borrowed text from a variety of sources (literature, scientific papers, songs) which I manipulate and reorganise into new patterns and structures. Works are held by the Victoria and Albert Museum (a commissioned piece for the Prints and Drawings Study Room), the British Museum and the Text Archive at Bury Art Museum. I am currently working with Lindsay Simons on a collaboration inspired by the ancient sibyls, bringing their role as prophetesses from the classical to the contemporary world. I studied fine art at Middlesex University (2005) and printmaking at the Royal College of Art (2007), since when I have exhibited widely in the UK and abroad'.
