Carol Tarn

“I am a professional portrait and figurative artist painting in oils. I paint and teach from my studio in Wood Green. I have painted people from the unknown to the very well known.My sitters are often people who are interesting characters with interesting lives. They range from theatrical sitters, (Celia Imrie, Lesley Joseph) through to a street artist (Ben Wilson -The Chewing Gum Artist) to a Luthier Gary Bridgewood. I am also known for my ‘Flora and Fauna’ paintings which focus on small sections of plant life using subjects from both my garden and indoors.My work has been been shortlisted for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and also selected for exhibition with The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal West of England Academy, The Society of Women Artists, The ING Discerning Eye and the Society of Botanical Artists. ,The ING Discerning Eye and recently pre-selected for The Society of Botanical Artists.
